Bojan Krkic has explained that he has refused to play Euro 2008 for Spain because he feels ‘exhausted’.
The Barcelona striker is impressing in his first ever season in the Spanish top flight and he was expected to be part of the Spain squad that will play the European Championships in Austria and Switzerland at the start of June.
The 17-year-old has snubbed the possibility to represent his country, but insisted he will always be ready to play for La Roja in the future.
“In the last two years I have played the Under-17 World Cup and European Championship,” he told TV3.
“Being called by the manager is a great honour and it is not possible to doubt about my commitment.
“They will always have me when they need me, but right now I am exhausted.
“There is no personal problem. I just need to disconnect. I am exhausted.”
